OAKVILLE, Ontario – Ford Motor Company of Canada, Limited saw sales increase 8 per cent in August, marking the best August on record in 20 years. With 24,034 units sold, Ford of Canada posted its highest August sales since 1990. Products across the entire lineup showed positive results including CUV sales which increased 21 per cent and truck sales which rose 5 per cent, helping to boost overall sales. Just recently, the Ford Fiesta became the first ‘mini-car’ to earn a 2010 Top Safety Pick from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) since the introduction of a new roof strength test.
Not only have we held our ground this year after an unprecedented time in the auto industry — we’ve had positive year-over-year sales gains,” added Mondragon. “Consumers are showing their confidence in the Ford brand and we will continue to deliver what they want and value.”
