For the first time, in year 2010, RamaDBK president, Mr Ramanayake, has decided to open even better business opportunities to its customers: this year, RamaDBK offers its customers to come to Japan and to participate directly, in person, to the purchase of machines, guided by RamaDBK staff in the Komatsu Machine Auctions.

The Komatsu auctions are the biggest of the dozen of machinery auctions that take place each March in Japan, the main auction site being situated in Yokohama city, next to RamaDBK Office. Visiting the auctions provides RamaDBK customers a unique occasion to see and examine directly the machines before purchasing.

In the Komatsu auctions, it is possible to get machines in very good condition of all type, some machines reconditioned for the auctions, others even brand new. Japanese Used Cars Auctions

USS Saitama Co., Ltd. and USS Ryutsu Auto Auction Co., Ltd(’’USS Ryutsu’’)., both of which are wholly owned subsidiaries of USS Co., Ltd., will merge on April 1, 2010. Details are as follows.

1. Description of merger
(1) Merger method
USS Saitama will absorb USS Ryutsu. As a result, USS Saitama will be the surviving company after the merger and USS Ryutsu will be dissolved.
(2) Merger ratio and payment
There is no need to determine a merger ratio because both companies are wholly owned subsidiaries of USS.
(3) Summary of accounting treatment of merger
Under business combination accounting, this merger will be treated as a transaction between companies under common control. There will be no effect on the earnings of USS.

Note: USS Saitama will change its name to USS Kanto on April 1, 2010. On the same day, the capital of USS Kanto will be reduced from 200 million yen to 50 million yen, which is a difference of 150 million yen.

Since the two companies that are to merge are both consolidated subsidiaries of USS, the merger will have no effect on the results of operations of the USS Group.

Japanese Used Vehicles for Sale

Kenya is one of the biggest markets for Japanese used vehicles exporters. Kenya is importing thousands of used vehicles, machineries, bikes & parts from Japan every year. All these used vehicles had been sold both to the dealers and direct users, moreover now some Japanese exporters also having their own agents in Kenya to sell their vehicles directly to the customers.

Due to this heavy import of Japanese used vehicles, Kenyan government had started controlling the import of Japanese used vehicles to avoid un-healthy vehicles to Kenya. They set up some rules and regulations, which the importer must follow to import any vehicle from Japan.

Importing rules set up by Kenya Bureau of Standards are as follows:

1. It is mandatory that all used vehicles imported to Kenya must not be more than 8 years old from the first year of registration.
2. All these used vehicles, which is imported to Kenya, must be a right hand drive (RHD) except for some special vehicles like ambulance & fire engines etc.
3. All these imported used vehicles must undergo the inspection done by JEVIC (Japan Export Vehicle Inspection Center) before being shipped to Kenya. JEVIC is a well know company in Japan providing used vehicle’s roadworthiness certificate, which an importer must need when clearing the imported used car from the port of Mombassa. How to avoid rejection of Imports Upon inspection For Quality?
The importer should inform his supplier of used vehicle about the requirements of the Kenya Standard(s) to import such item in to their country. They should enter an agreement with the exporter that if the product does not meet the requirements of the relevant Kenya Standard(s) when inspected at the port of entry in Kenya, it will be shipped back to the country of origin at the supplier’s cost.

Importers in Kenya can purchase Kenya Standards at the Kenya Bureau of Standards Head Office in Nairobi or at the KEBS Regional Offices in Mombassa, Kisumu and Eldoret.
